Dental Implants
Dental Implant (Implant Treatment)
What are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is an artificial root of a tooth that is usually made of pure titanium. Dental implants are the most accurate treatment method to replace a missing tooth without damaging the surrounding teeth. They contribute to chewing function, which is the first step in digestion, as much as our own natural teeth.
How Are Implants Applied?
The first step in dental implant treatment is accurate planning. In our clinics, high-tech 3D imaging systems are used to evaluate the detailed bone structure.
After planning, the implant is applied to the jawbone by a qualified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. It takes approximately 2 months for the implant to fuse with the lower jawbone and 3 months for the upper jawbone.
Once the healing is complete, an abutment is placed on the dental implant to attach the planned prosthesis. A crown, bridge, or removable prosthesis is then attached to the abutment.
Advantages of Implant Treatment
Implants are made of solid materials such as titanium and are compatible with the human body and natural materials.
Implants prevent jaw bone loss and maintain its natural structure.
In the case of a single tooth loss, incomplete teeth are completed without affecting the adjacent stable teeth.
In the case of total tooth loss, it is possible to make a permanent prosthesis instead of using removable prostheses, which are difficult to use.
Implants appear in perfect harmony with your natural teeth, restoring facial symmetry and a natural smile.
Implants can last a lifetime with proper oral care and regular check-ups.
