What is Zirconium Crown?                                                         

Zirconium is a white and durable alloy used in place of metal infrastructure in porcelain crowns and bridges.

It is one of the methods that are frequently used in aesthetic dentistry because they are both natural enough to be preferred in the anterior teeth and are strong enough to be used in the posterior teeth.

When to apply Zirconium Crown?

Zirconia crown is the preferred aesthetic restoration in the renewal of incompatible old crowns, excessive material loss, in the treatment of old fillings or severe discoloration of teeth, in the design of irregular and intermittent teeth, in the arrangement of shape and in the design of implant prostheses.

In the zirconium treatment, the size of the tooth is reduced to some amount and a digital impression of the tooth or implant to be crowned is taken using an intraoral camera. The crown is designed and produced with a special software using the impressions taken. The prepared crown or bridge prosthesis  is then adhered to the tooth.
