Fluoride gel is applied to the tooth enamel, making the tooth enamel more resistant and hard. The most commonly used form is APF (Acidified Phosphate Fluoride and Sodium Fluoride). These gels comes in different flavors such as strawberry, orange and mint, and are applied in a simple, comfortable and painless way. It is applied by trays (spoon) and kept in the mouth for 4 minutes. Do not rinse your mouth, eat or drink anything approximately 30 minutes after the application. Fluoride gel can be applied 3-4 times a year according to caries activity in children 4 years and older and who have gained the ability to spit.
